Our roots

It started with Daisy.
It grew under an oak.

Our first Golden Retriever arrived as a wedding gift from my father more than thirty years ago. Her name was Daisy. She slept at the foot of our bed, greeted visitors, and made herself part of our everyday life. We loved living with Goldens long before we thought about raising puppies.

Friends began asking about puppies from our dogs. One litter led to another, and we named our small program after the old oak tree in our front yard. Our dogs have spent years resting in its shade. The name still reminds us of the home and family life at the center of LiveOak.

Room to pay attention

How we raise our
Golden Retriever puppies.

We raise a few litters each year so we can pay attention to the puppies in front of us. We notice how they eat, rest, grow, respond to handling, and approach something new. Their age and development guide the pace. There is time for quiet as well as play, and time to speak with the people who are considering them.

01

Home is their first classroom

Puppies grow up around the vacuum, doorbell, family visits, different surfaces, and the sounds of an ordinary household. We introduce experiences in small steps.

02

Gentle hands, plenty of rest

We handle puppies each day and give them space to sleep and settle. We follow the puppy’s stage of development when introducing something new.

03

Know the people raising your puppy

You speak with us about our observations and the puppy’s records. Ask about something you need to understand before making a decision.

A place in your everyday life

Make room for the dog
your puppy will become.

Before you inquire, talk about what bringing a Golden home would mean for each person in your family. Make a list of the questions you want to ask us and the care decisions you want to discuss with your veterinarian. Include room in your plans for learning, changing routines, and getting help when you need it. Choosing a puppy should give you time to understand the responsibility and feel ready for the years ahead.

Think about your household beyond puppy day. A Golden Retriever needs your time for training, grooming, exercise, veterinary care, and companionship. Talk through the workday, supervision, children, resident pets, and care responsibilities together. Plan who will take the early mornings, grooming sessions, and appointments, as well as the fun afternoons.

Prepare a secure resting space, suitable supplies, and a calm first day. Follow your veterinarian’s guidance on growth, feeding, body condition, and age-appropriate activity. Our guides can help you organize the questions you want to ask your veterinarian, trainer, or groomer. You can return to them as your puppy grows and your routine changes.

Health and homecoming

Health records and
homecoming plans.

We want you to understand the records and arrangements that come with your puppy. Take time to read both pages below before reserving, and bring us the questions that matter to your family.

01 / Health

Records and our written guarantee

LiveOak screens breeding dogs for hips, elbows, heart, and eyes, with testing for breed-related inherited conditions. Our About Us page explains the screening practices we follow. Before homecoming, we provide the available records described in the Health Guarantee.

The guarantee explains covered conditions, examination and claim deadlines, buyer responsibilities, exclusions, remedies, and financial limits. Arrange the initial veterinary examination within three business days after taking possession and send us the examination record within three business days after that visit. Read the full terms for the coverage and requirements that apply.

A plan for your puppy’s journey

After approval and reservation, we discuss pickup, an agreed meetup, or a suitable transport option. Flight nanny, airline live-animal, and ground travel each depend on the puppy, route, weather, provider, and destination requirements. A puppy will not leave before eight weeks and must also meet the readiness and clearance conditions on our delivery page.

We confirm the method, itinerary or route, handoff, and quoted fee in writing before booking. Transportation charges are separate unless the written agreement says otherwise. Review the complete Shipping & Delivery page before booking your own travel or assuming a method or date.

Start with a conversation

Start your puppy inquiry.

An inquiry gives us a chance to learn about your family, daily schedule, experience, care plans, and timing. If a puppy has caught your eye, open the inquiry from that profile so we know who you want to discuss. Include the questions you have about current observations, records, or homecoming arrangements.

Take the time you need. We want you to understand the commitment and feel comfortable asking questions before reserving. Sending a form starts a conversation; it does not reserve a puppy or promise approval. For a general question, our Contact page offers a separate way to reach us.

Room for your Golden’s story

We enjoy hearing from families after their puppies go home, from birthday photos to quiet afternoons on the couch. We welcome questions as circumstances change. If you can no longer keep your LiveOak dog, contact us to discuss the situation and available options.
